MTSU faces UAB for Homecoming

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  It’s another big Conference USA game this Saturday for the Blue Raiders as they play host to the UAB Blazers at Floyd Stadium.

The Blazers are led by quarterback Cody Clements who ranks fourth in the country in completion percentage (70.6) and ninth in passing efficiency (166.1).

UAB, winners of four of their last six games, are a much improved team this season after only winning two games all of last year.

Middle won last year’s game in Birmingham by the score of 24-21.

Thundering Herd overwhelms MTSU Raiders

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Blue Raider football team suffered a tough loss on the road this Saturday falling 49-24 to the Marshall Thundering Herd in Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

Senior Shubert Bastien had a career-high 11 tackles and one sack on the game.

Offensively, quarterback Austin Grammer threw for over 200 yards completing 25-of-37 passes for two touchdowns.

Middle Tennessee falls to 4-3 overall (3-1 C-USA) and Marshall (6-0, 2-0) stays unbeaten on the year.

MTSU faces undefeated Marshall

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (BEASLEY)  --  It's a big test for the Blue Raiders Saturday as they travel to Huntington, W. Va., to take on the undefeated Marshall Thunder Herd inside S.B. Ballard Stadium.

The Thundering Herd have outscored their opponents 238-79 and are the only undefeated team not ranked inside the AP top 25 poll.

MTSU chalks up another win

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Middle Tennessee football team notched its third win of the season Friday defeating the Old Dominion Monarchs 41-28 in Norfolk, Va.

Sophomore quarterback Austin Grammer threw for 259 yards, two touchdowns and completed 25-of-30 pass attempts.

Running back Jordan Parker also had a career night, rushing for a career high 158 yards on 31 carries.

Up next for the Blue Raiders will be the Southern Miss Golden Eagles visiting Floyd Stadium Saturday. Middle won last year by the score of 42-21.
