Coming in October- Dave Brubeck Quartet in Concert!

A Special Event with the Nashville Symphony That You Won't Want to Miss!

The Dave Brubeck Quartet will perform live on Friday, October 15th with the Nashville Symphony at the Ryman Auditorium, starting at 8pm.

This performance will be noteworthy because Dave Brubeck will be leading the Quartet for the first time since the original group members disbanded in 1967. To add to the excitement, the group will also perform some new material with their host, the Nashville Symphony.

The Dave Brubeck Quartet has been making music history since the 1950's and 60's. Of their twelve albums, Time Out became the first platinum-selling jazz record in history with famous singles such as "Take Five" and "Blue Rondo a la Turk". In addition to performing for kings and presidents, the Dave Brubeck Quartet appeared on the cover of Time magazine. The group also pioneered the idea of touring college and university campuses.

On his own, Dave Brubeck has continued to foster the future of jazz music. As a composer and musician, he is known for his innovations in jazz. His style consists of experimental rhythm and tone techniques and an infusion of cultural music from around the world. In 1995, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts and now holds the title of Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts.
