Mobile Meth Lab Bust On S. Church in Murfeesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro Police say they were able to take a mobile meth lab off the streets early Monday morning.

A Murfreesboro officer pulled a black Mustang over near the Wendy’s on South Church Street a little after 3 a.m. When the officer stepped up to the car he noticed that the driver had a ventilation mask hanging around his neck.

The car’s occupants, 18 year-old David R. Frederick and 19 year-old Morgan N. Parker, both of Cullman, Alabama, reportedly gave the officer permission to search the vehicle. The officer stated he found evidence that meth was being cooked in the car and called in the MPD’s meth response team.

A police incident report indicates that items used to manufacture meth were found in the car, along with what officers believed to be meth crystals. Some recovered items were sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for testing, while a Meth Task Force response truck took the hazardous material away for safe disposal.

Frederick and Parker were arrested on drug manufacture and possession charges and booked into the Rutherford County Jail on $100,000 bond each.
