MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Blue Raider men and women both pulled out hard won victories last night over North Texas in Denton. 

The MTSU men's basketball team withstood a late rally by the Mean Green to hold on for a 68-66 victory. The men now have a 21-3 overall record and a 10-0 standing in the Sun Belt Conference, marking the best league start in school history. 

The Lady Raiders game also went down to the wire, with the MT women eaking out a 70-68 victory to extend their winning streak to 12 games.

MOBILE,‭ ‬Ala.‭ (WMOT) ‬- The Blue Raider men’s‭ ‬and women’s‭ ‬basketball teams are on quite a roll.‭ ‬

The Lady Raiders extended their winning streak Saturday night to‭ ‬10‭ ‬games with a‭ ‬60-53‭ ‬victory over South Alabama at Mobile.‭  ‬

The men’s team‭ ‬also beat‭ ‬South Alabama.‭ ‬The‭ ‬68-47‭ ‬win gave the men their‭ ‬11th-straight victory to improve to‭ ‬19-2‭ ‬on the season,‭ ‬marking the best start in MTSU history.‭ ‬

The‭ ‬men's and women’s squads  remain the Sun Belt’s only undefeated teams.‭ ‬

MTSU Volleyball Headed to NCAA Tourney

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  It’s been a difficult fall for Middle Tennessee State sports, but one team has made into postseason play. 

For the sixth straight year, MTSU volleyball has earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Raiders had to sweat through the selection process before hearing their name called as an at-large pick.

Now, MTSU will travel to Knoxville for a first-round match on Thursday, taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes. The match will begin at 3:30 PM at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The winner will play again Friday against either Tennessee or Duke.

Blue Raiders Lose to Louisiana

Blue Raiders football had another disappointing weekend, losing to Louisiana 45-20 before a hometown crowd of 13,500.  Chip Walters provides this game recap:

Middle Tennessee never got on track either side of the ball.

The Blue Raiders inducted five new members into their athletic hall of fame earlier in the day but could not close the monumental occasion with a win at night. 

Logan Kilgore threw for 239 yards on 22-of-40 passes, including a high of seven to Malcolm Beyah for 86 yards and the lone touchdown toss.

MTSU Wins on the Road

 Quarterback Logan Kilgore completed his first 19 passes Saturday to set a school  record and steer the Blue Raiders to a 38-14 road triumph at Florida Atlantic.  A strong first quarter lifts Blue Raiders to a road win and MT crosses 450 offensive yards for fourth-straight game.
