Black vs. Zelenik, The Rematch

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) —  Filled with big money punches and verbal attacks, the primary for the 6th District congressional seat is looking more like a female boxing match: Black vs. Zelenik, the rematch.

Two years ago former state Sen. Diane Black defeated Lou Ann Zelenik by fewer than 400 votes in a GOP primary that pitted Black's mainstream Republican credentials against Zelenik's tea party fervor. Black went on to win the seat east of Nashville, helping tip the Tennessee congressional delegation to 7-2 in favor of the GOP.

Tenn. Reaction to Santorum Primary Exit

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Tennessee’s Republican presidential primary choice dropped out of the race this week, and one of his biggest in-state supporters is expressing disappointment.

Rick Santorum announced Tuesday that he’s suspending his campaign to represent the GOP in this fall’s presidential election. Santorum won the Tennessee primary by a wide margin back in early March.

MTSU Poll Shows Santorum with 2-t0-1 Lead in Tenn.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Tennessee joins 9 other states for Super Tuesday presidential primary voting tomorrow. As you’ve heard John and Celeste mention, Santorum and Romney are running neck-and-neck in several states.

The vote appears to be shaping up differently here in Tennessee. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum held a two-to-one lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in polls conducted recently by both the Survey Group at Middle Tennessee State University and the Vanderbilt Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions.
