MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspect wanted in connection with a bomb threat.

A felony arrest warrant has been issued for 51 year-old William T. Moon of Tracy City for making a false report. Investigators allege that Moon called in the threat to the Rutherford County Judicial Building May 31.

The threat closed the Judicial building for several hours while bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to search the facility.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A rash of burglaries at rural churches throughout Middle Tennessee has law enforcement asking for the public's help.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office reports that five rural Rutherford County churches were burglarized in the early morning hours of April 20 and May 8. Three of the churches are located in Walter Hill will the other two are located Manson Pike.

Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lisa Marchesoni says electronics and petty cash were stolen in most of the cases.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP/WMOT) — A Tennessee prison inmate now stands indicted for the murder of his wife 25 years ago.

Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold announced Monday that his Cold Case Unit had developed new evidence in the death of Deborah Sherfiled Bess.  

The evidence was presented to the Rutherford County Grand Jury, resulting in a first-degree murder indictment against 63-year-old Moses Bess. It charges Bess with fatally shooting his then 38-year-old wife, Deborah, at the couple's home in Aug., 1986.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn (WMOT)  --  WMOT News has been telling you this week about a three day training seminar held at the World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro. That training concluded Wednesday afternoon.

The seminar was conducted by Strategic Engagement Group, a company that believes the American people are under threat from a coordinated, global Muslim conspiracy involving all 56 of the world’s Islamic nations.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.  (WMOT)  --  More than 100 Tennessee law enforcement officers, including deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, are being trained this week in Murfreesboro by an organization that believes an Islamic insurgency is underway in the United States.

          The training sessions are being held each day through Wednesday at the World Outreach Church on New Salem Highway. The Tennessee Freedom Coalition (TFC) is scheduled to host a one-time seminar beginning this evening at 6:30 p.m. featuring the same training group at the same location.
