Roots on the Rivers is a one-day family friendly celebration of American Roots music at Two Rivers Mansion in the Donelson neighborhood of Nashville, TN.
This outdoor, boutique festival features LIVE MUSIC, a beer garden, local artisans, craft cocktails and food trucks, to benefit WMOT 89.5, the non profit, public radio station playing American Roots Music in Middle Tennessee.
Anyone who’s followed and loved and supported the East Nashville music scene over its world-renowned, two-decade journey should love this lineup. Chuck Mead leading into Elizabeth Cook as our one-day boutique fest hits its climax is just classic, as both were stars of the insurgent country movement at the turn of the millennium and have been ever since. Through growth and experimentation, both have continued to hold the torch high for country music and old school Opry values.
But there’s so much more. Devon Gilfillian has been a Nashville innovator and ambassador since he leapt from indie to major status with his 2020 album Black Hole Rainbow on Columbia, resulting in several national hits and a Grammy nomination. Then there’s our old friend Mary Gauthier, master songwriter, with special guest Jaimee Harris. We're excited about Chatham County Line, who’ve evolved from Tarheel bluegrass band to the more expansive sound of their engaging new album Hiyo. Also keeping things country and up to date is the blue and candid voice of Jaime Wyatt, working her new album Feel Good, plus a day-opener for kids of all ages, Jason Ringenberg as Farmer Jason.
Roots on the Rivers is a family friendly festival, kids 16 and under get in free! Everyone can enjoy the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, where kids and adults can be part of the music and try out a variety of instruments. Farmer Jason will perform on the main stage and surprise guests will be busking on site.
