Make a Gift of Stock
Many of our donors choose to make stock gifts to WMOT each year. Giving stock held more than 12 months offers a two-fold tax savings:
- Avoid paying capital-gains tax on the increase in value of your stock, and
- Receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift
This is an excellent giving option for stock that has appreciated substantially in value. A gift of stock also brings with it WMOT membership, with benefit levels corresponding to the amount of the gift.
How to give stock to WMOT
To make a gift to WMOT, you will need to give the following information to your broker:
