Feds Conclude Probe Of Polar Bear Scientists

A federal investigation into two researchers who wrote a famous report on drowned polar bears is finally over, according to their lawyer.

But the scientists still haven't been allowed to see a copy of the investigation report or its conclusions, says attorney Jeff Ruch of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility.

Critics have charged that the two-year investigation was a witch hunt into researchers whose work had political implications.

MTSU, Military to Announce New Partnership Monday at 10 a.m.

For the second time in two years, Middle Tennessee State University and the military will enter into a partnership agreement regarding robotic technology.

Full details will be announced at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, in the Tom H. Jackson Building’s Cantrell Hall. Media can access the building by 9:45 a.m. to set up equipment.

A visual demonstration of the technology will follow the announcement at approximately 10:30 and will provide a great opportunity for video and digital photography.

Local Muslims Worship in New Mosque

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Muslims in the Tennessee city of Murfreesboro were able to celebrate Friday prayers in a new mosque after more than two years of controversy about the building.

Opponents of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro who sued to try to halt construction were nowhere to be seen. Instead the worship space was filled with smiling men, women and children.
