31 arrested overnight in Williamson County drug sweep

FAIRVIEW, Tenn. (AP) — Deputies in Williamson County are serving arrest warrants after a grand jury indicted 31 people on drug charges.

Media report the drug sweep was taking place Monday morning and targeted both dealers and suppliers.

Williamson County Sheriff's deputies and Fairview police were being assisted by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Tennessee Department of Correction, the Tennessee Department of Children's Services and Williamson County Animal Control.

Those arrested are being taken to the Williamson County Criminal Justice Center, where a judge will set court dates and bond.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office says a lengthy investigation led to the charges.
