$6 billion mid-state transit plan calls for light rail

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Transit officials are asking for your input on a just proposed $6 billion transit plan for Middle Tennessee.

WSMV reports that the new plan was released Wednesday morning by the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Regional Transportation Authority.

The plan, submitted by the nMotion project team, recommends 46 miles of light rail, 98 miles of freeway bus rapid transit, and 200 miles of pedestrian improvements.

The plans are posted online and both transit authorities are asking the public for input. There are also four public meeting scheduled between now and the end of August during which input will be accepted.
