6 MTSU students bound, robbed in campus apartment

RCSO

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  Police say they’ve arrested three men in connection with a robbery on the campus of Middle Tennessee State.

The men arrested include 19-year-old Kenterrius Turner, 24-year-old Quintshay Shannon, and 19-year-old Jamarces Watson. WGNS Radio quotes police saying the men assaulted and robbed six MTSU students in a Womak Lane Apartment.

The men reportedly forced their way into the apartment and bound the students, one woman and five men, with tape. Some were assaulted and forced to remove parts of their clothing. One victim later needed medical treatment.

Police detained two of the men on campus within ten minutes. A third was taken into custody shortly after. All three were interviewed and then arrested on various charges, including assault and robbery. None of the men arrested are believed to be MTSU students.

Police did not send the campus wide alert typically issued in such cases. A statement from the university says campus police believed all threat to the university community ended with the quick arrests.
