MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Alive Hospice is hosting its sixth annual weekend retreat for high school students dealing with loss.

The camp is being held at Camp Youth Incorporated on Percy Priest Lake beginning Friday, Oct. 17.

Pam Quaintance will be one of the counselors on hand to help the teens work through their grief. She says a retreat of this kind can be especially helpful for teens.

“Many, many times they feel very, very alone in their grief, because nobody else in their peer-group is going through the same experience. But they can come to this retreat and with a whole group of people that have also lost somebody important in their lives and they don’t feel so alone anymore.”

There’s a small fee to attend but Quaintance says scholarships are available. Registration is required.
