MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Actor and bestselling author Hill Harper will be the keynote speaker for Middle Tennessee State University's Black History Month celebration.
Harper is scheduled to speak Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom on the university's campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Harper is best known for his roles in the television series "CSI: NY" and "Covert Affairs." The Harvard University law school graduate is also the author of several New York Times bestsellers, including "Letters to a Young Brother."
Harper is also the founder of the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, which seeks to empower underserved youth.
