Alias Presents Donation to "The Contributor"

The Grammy-nominated ALIAS Chamber Ensemble presented a check for $1,150.23 to The Contributor as the recipient of the proceeds of ALIAS’ most recent concert.  (Pictured are, left to right from the Contributor: Tom Willis, Director of Vending; Brady Banks, Development Director; from ALIAS: Board Members, Loraine Segovia Paz; Kathy Masulis; Michelle Lin Doane and Stacy Widelitz, board president.

ALIAS is a nonprofit chamber ensemble dedicated to an innovative repertoire, artistic excellence, and a desire to give back to the community. Its wide-ranging repertoire brings Nashville audiences a mix of chamber music that cannot be heard anywhere else.

ALIAS adopts three nonprofit partners each season, and shares the spotlight with one nonprofit at every series performance. This “spotlight” nonprofit partner has the opportunity to share its message with the audience, and receives 100 percent of the proceeds from that concert…no strings attached.

The Contributor Inc prints a twice-monthly street newspaper that accomplishes the following:

  • Provides a diversity of perspectives and information on the condition of homelessness while highlighting the contributions of homeless and formerly homeless individuals
  • Provides homeless and formerly homeless newspaper vendors with a source of income
  • Creates community between vendors and customers
