Armed robbery, high-speed chase in Rutherford County

RCSO

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Rutherford County man has been booked into the Adult Detention Center for the 24th time yesterday following an armed robbery and high speed pursuit.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Darrell Lambert is facing multiple charges in the case.. Authorities say Lambert robbed the Lascassas Drug Store at gunpoint. He fired a shot into the store’s ceiling and walked away with a duffel bag full of narcotics.

County deputies spotted Lambert a few minutes later on Compton Road and high speed chase began. Spike strips deflated all four tire but police say Lambert kept driving.

Sheriff Robert Arnold says Deputy Lee Young was finally able to use a special maneuver to get Lambert off the highway.

“Comes up from behind and hits the back corner panel and kind of spins him out. Deputy Lee Young has gone to school for that. So he’s a certified instructor on that.”

Lambert was charged with aggravated robbery, felony evading arrest, reckless endangerment and theft.
