Ballet raises significant money for new facilities

nashvilleballet.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- (SHAW)  --  The Nashville Ballet recently raised $720,000 toward a challenge grant that will be matched dollar for dollar.

The challenge from a single donor was part of a larger Capital Campaign that Executive Director Angie Adams says has now received a total of 5.2 million dollars in total commitments.

Adams says most of the money will go toward a long overdue facilities update.

“Our schools enrollment has doubled over the past three years and we have gotten to the point of turning students away. Which we felt horrible about so we need to add more space in order to welcome more students to dance.”

The funds raised will help the ballet add more space for students including three more studios, appropriate restrooms, and lobby space.

Construction is already underway and nearly half way to completion.  The remodeling should be finished in time for up coming events with the Nashville Symphony and the Fisk Jubilee singers.

The organization is still accepting donatons.  Visit Nashville Balletfor more information.
