Beegie Adair talks with Fred Hersch on Improvised Thoughts

From 1994, prolific pianist, composer, bandleader and six time Grammy Award nominee Fred Hersch joins us on Improvised Thoughts with Beegie Adair. We'll hear selections from one of 3 CDs he had newly released at the time - his '94 recording "The Fred Hersch Trio Plays Coleman, Coltrane, Davis...". Inventive versions of "Moment's Notice," "Doxy," "Mood Indigo" and "Evanessence" (his own nod to Bill Evans) are the songs he'll share along with the support of trio mates Drew Gress (bass) and Tom Rainey (drums).

P.S. Stay tuned immediately following the show. We'll hear a couple of special performances from "The Ballad Album" he notes earlier in the program.
