Beggie Adair sits down with the Grammy-award winning Dee Dee Bridgewater

Our next edition of Improvised Thoughts with Beegie Adair is a special visit with Dee Dee Bridgewater, the multi-talented singer/songwriter/actress and radio host.  She received a Grammy nomination for this featured recording, her first self-produced CD, "Keeping Tradition".  The recording is also a great showcase for her European trio:  pianist Thierry Eliez; Hein Van De Geyn-bass and Andre Ceccarelli-drums.

This program was first heard in 1994, near the beginning of a very fruitful period in Dee Dee's career that saw more acting roles, more Grammy nominations and Grammy awards,  an Ambassador's position to the United Nations in the battle against world hunger, radio host of NPR's weekly JazzSet concert series, etc.  Along with the music Dee Dee talks about her Memphis background, her work with several of the great musicians in her past, including Thad Jones & Horace Silver, and offers some important advice to singers regarding live performance.

It's Dee Dee (Bridgewater) and Beegie (Adair) on this edition Improvised Thoughts program on 89.5 FM WMOT and streaming live at www.wmot.org. Be sure to join us
