Blue Raider Football Denied a Bowl Game

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Blue Raiders football team finished the 2012 regular season with a record of 8-4 after losing Saturday to Arkansas State, but it was what happened on Sunday that grabbed the attention of Blue Raider fans.

Middle Tennessee's season came to an end Sunday night after the Blue Raiders (8-4, 6-2 SBC) were snubbed for a bowl game.

Surprisingly, Western Kentucky received the final bowl bid allotted to the Sun Belt Conference.

You might recall Middle Tennessee scored a 34-29 win over Western Kentucky, and had a two game advantage at season’s end.

Overall, it was an impressive season for the Blue Raiders with a win over Georgia Tech, and the chance to play for the Sun Belt title.
