MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Blue Raider Football is back on the road this weekend to play Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.

MTSU is looking to make it four straight wins when they face off against the Golden Eagles Saturday afternoon. The Raiders are already bowl-eligible and are aiming for eight wins in the regular season for the second straight year.

These teams have only met one other time, in a 2009 bowl game, which Middle Tennessee won 42-32.

The Blue Raiders have forced 28 turnovers, ranking it third nationally and second nationally in fumble recoveries with 15. Over the last 15 games, the Blue Raider defense has come up with 22 interceptions.

The youthful Golden Eagles squad has now played 15 true freshmen this season, second only to UCLA and Texas A&M.

As always, Saturday’s game can be heard right here on WMOT beginning at 2 p.m.
