Blue Raiders Looking 3rd Straight Win Over Memphis

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Middle Tennessee quarterback Logan Kilgore believes the Blue Raiders have a little rivalry going with the Memphis Tigers.

That's understandable, considering the Blue Raiders have won four of the last five games.

Kilgore says the games always are a dogfight with Memphis an in-state team.

The programs are separated by about 240 miles, and Middle Tennessee coach Rick Stockstill says being that close adds to the rivalry between Tennessee's two FBS-level programs not in the Southeastern Conference. Stockstill says he likes the intensity for two teams that didn't play for a few decades that now have played a few years in a row.

Middle Tennessee (1-1) now is in Conference USA, the league Memphis (0-1) left the same day in July for the American Athletic Conference.
