Brazil's World Cup Defeat on The World for 7-9

From our Boston newsroom....

There's a defeat...and then there's what the Brazil experienced yesterday at the World Cup. The host nation lost to Germany by six -- yes, SIX -- goals. More on that in a minute.

First, though, we take you to the Middle East. Rocket fire and air-strikes continue to punctuate daily life there. We'll check in with residents in Gaza and in Jerusalem to take stock of what impact the increase in violence means for the daily lives of both Palestinians and Israelis.

Also, President Obama is in Texas today and immigration is on the agenda, particularly the influx of undocumented children crossing the US border. From our Global Nation desk, Monica Campbell profiles two young Guatemalans who braved the trek north, and are now trying to carve out lives here in the US.

OK, back to Brazil's stunning World Cup defeat yesterday. We'll check in with a sports editor in Sao Paulo. We'll also hear from Franklin Foer, author of How Soccer Explains the World. And we'll also try to bring you a voice from Germany, the happy victors from yesterday's clash.
