Brrrr! Widespread Frost Expected in the Mid-State Tuesday Night

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  If you’ve already put your winter coat away, you’re going to be in for quite a shock tomorrow and Wednesday morning as temperatures once again dip below freezing.

The Weather Service Office says we’ll be in the 70s today, but a cold front will move through the mid-state tonight and temperatures will plummet once the front passes. Middle Tennessee will see a high in the upper 30s or low 40s during the day tomorrow.

Tomorrow night into Wednesday morning temperatures will fall into the upper 20s and the Weather Service is predicting widespread frost. Nashville based meteorologist Mark Richards says we could even see a few snowflakes.

“We have some trailing moisture that’s going to hang up behind, so it wouldn’t be out of the question to see a few snow flurries, and/or something freezing; sleet type of stuff. But it doesn’t really look like a whole lot at this point in time.”

The cold won’t last long. Middle Tennessee will be back in the 60s Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
