Campaign Complaint Filed Against Senator Tracy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The state Registry of Election Finance will consider a complaint filed against state Sen. Jim Tracy over a pancake breakfast he held last year for constituents.

The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1bSGTgU) reports the issue will be taken up in January.

Shelbyville resident James R. Moore said in the complaint that he believes Tracy may have violated campaign finance reporting procedures by having the event shortly before launching a bid for Congress.

Tracy called the allegations "baseless and frivolous" and said the event on Dec. 22 was "dedicated to providing Christmas presents" for children in need.

He said a similar pancake breakfast and toy drive is planned on Saturday.
