MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Record breaking storms in Alaska and Canada are pushing a cold air mass into Tennessee that has the “S” word in our forecast.
We’ll see rain here in the mid-state this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow morning. Once that weather front passes, much colder air moves in.
Thursday through Monday we’ll see daytime highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. Overnight lows will fall below freezing.
Nashville Office Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Reagan says we could even see some white stuff Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
“It looks like we’ll have some disturbances move through Saturday night, and then into Sunday and even Sunday night, and overnight the temperatures could possibly fall low enough where we could have some snow mixed in, but it won’t be significant.”
Reagan says the long range forecast suggests the colder temperatures may be with us well into next week.
