Couple Who Died in Lincoln County Tornado Identified

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say the two people killed in a tornado strike in southern Tennessee were a married couple who lived in a mobile home.

Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder on Tuesday identified the victims as 60-year-old John Prince and 44-year-old Karen Prince.

Neighbors said the Princes had sought refuge at a relative's nearby home during the first wave of the storm but returned to the mobile home believing the danger had passed.

Tiffani Danner, who had taken shelter elsewhere before her home across the street was destroyed, said the couple had been living in the mobile home while planning to build a house.

Blackwelder said 25 homes and an elementary school were destroyed by the storm. Seven people were taken to the hospital for injuries.vi
