Diane Black pushes the Obamacare replacement plan out of her committee

congress.gov

Tennessee Congressional Rep. Diane Black managed to push the GOP’s Obamacare replacement health care plan through her House Budget Committee Thursday morning, but she did so by the slimmest of margins.

The final tally was 19 to 17 with three Republicans joining all of the committee's Democrats in voting against the proposal.

Tea Party Republicans are furious the deal retains some features of Obamacare. GOP moderates worry voting for the plan could be held against them later if passage results in millions of Americans losing their health insurance.

House Speaker Paul Ryan acknowledging for the first time Thursday that he will have to accept changes to the measure to ensure it wins approval by the full House.
