Embattled Tenn. lawmaker accuses reporter of trespassing

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) — Embattled state Rep. Jeremy Durham has brought criminal trespass charges against a reporter for the Nashville Scene weekly newspaper, accusing her of trying to enter his Franklin home while seeking an interview.

Citing an affidavit, the Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1VfmtXE ) reports that Cari Wade Gervin has been accused of using her foot on Tuesday to try to prevent Durham and his wife from closing their front door on her.

Gervin says Jeremy Durham had screamed at her, tried to grab her cellphone and then called the police because Gervin says she "momentarily partially stepped onto his threshold during the altercation."

Durham, who is under investigation for sexual harassment, is seeking re-election this fall despite demands for his resignation from GOP leaders. He has denied any wrongdoing.
