Ephemera on PRI's The World for 2-4-14

PRI's The World - with Host Marco Werman

Here today, gone tomorrow...that's the essence of ephemera, right? You know, those bits and pieces of culture that are, by their very nature, fleeting. On today's show New York-based Alina Simone reports on the growing trade in ephemera -- we'll also hear a bit about Marco's own collectibles from far-flung places.

Also, we pull back the curtains a bit on North Korea, by talking to a BBC documentary filmmaker who got unprecedented access to the he Pyongyang University of Science and Technology -- which is actually a Western, Christian-funded university. (Mind.  Blown.)

And we'll check in with the BBC employee responsible for making sure everyone is pronouncing their Russian correctly as they head off to Sochi for the Olympics.
