Evangelicals Targeted by Immigration Reform Ads

evangelicalimmigrationtable.com/

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A political advertising campaign aimed at evangelical Christians - designed to influence congressional debate on immigration reform - is underway in Tennessee and twelve other states.

The group Evangelical Immigration Tablesays its media campaign is intended to promote what it calls “broad, common sense immigration reform.”

The group includes a number of well-known evangelical leaders, including Dr. Russell Moore, President-elect of the Middle Tennessee based Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.

“This isn’t just a legal issue, it isn’t just a political issue, and it isn’t an economic issue only. It’s a moral issue and it’s been a stain on our country for too long, and now is the time for the country to come together for an immigration system that respects the God-given human dignity of every person.”

The Reverend Sandy Willson of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis will voice the ads heard in Tennessee.

The group says it’s spending a quarter-million-dollars on the media blitz which will run through late August.
