The Flying Spaghetti Monster on The World for 2-23

Have you ever heard of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Well, it's the object of worship for a small church in Germany. More on that story in a minute.

First, though, we're digging in today on Iran-US relations. First, Barbara Slavin, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, fills us in on the latest round of talks in Geneva about Iran's nuclear program. At the same time that the two nations are trying reach a deal on nukes, reports are emerging that the United States and Iran are both stepping up cyber-attacks against each other.

Plus, Greece is supposed to hand over a list of proposed economic reforms to the European Union today. The goal is to appease Brussels, and extend the country's bailout. The goal is also to keep Greece in the Euro. But Columbia University's Patrick Chovanec argues that it's not Greece that should leave the Euro, but rather Germany. He outlines his argument to host Marco Werman.

Also, we get Mexican reaction to Alejandro González Iñárritu's Oscar wins last night for "Birdman."

Now, back to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The founder of a small church in the German town of Templin wants the same rights enjoyed by the more established Christian churches. He's a follower of the non-religion of "Pastafarianism," which worships...you guessed it...a Flying Spaghetti Monster. The World's Matthew Bell has that story.
