Gateway Chamber Orchestra Offers 2-Concert Series

The Gateway Chamber Orchestra announces a 2-Concert Spring Series subscription including Romantic Visions and Appalachian Spring. Rejoice in the majesty of Mendelssohn on February 9, and celebrate America’s favorite composer Aaron Copland in April. Mozart’s youthful Symphony No. 32 sets the stage for the energetic and hypnotic string writing in Visions and Miracles by GRAMMY®-nominated American composerChristopher Theofanidis.

WhenTeresa Buchholz made her GCO debut in 2013 with Mahler’s Das Lied von Der Erde, the Nashville press hailed the collaboration as “transcendent.” Buchholz partners with the GCO in Berio’s intimate and colorful Folk Songs, a song cycle of melodies from around the world. The winner of the Young Composer Competition,Christopher Chandler is featured alongside two of the most iconic American works, Barber’s Adagio and Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
