MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (BEASLEY)  --  It was a one-game playoff between Middle Tennessee and UTEP in the Sun Bowl to see who would get their seventh win and the final bowl bid from the five automatic bowl tie-ins allotted to C-USA schools.

after Saturday's 24-21 loss, Middle Tennessee HASonly six wins on the season, and could wind up not getting invited to a bowl game.

Running back Shane Tucker led the way with with two touchdowns and 101 yards on the ground for MT.
