Jazz at the Symphony: Smooth and Saxy

The Nashville Symphony's third annual Jazz At the Symphony on Friday, April 8th.
On Friday, April 8, at 8 p.m., in the War Memorial Auditorium, Jazz at the Symphony will be perfomred by The Nashville Symphony, with special guest conductor, Jeff Steinberg, and guest Denis Solee, tenor saxophone; Mark Douthis and Jeff Coffin are on tenor saxophone with Roger Spencer on bass, Bob Mater plays the drums, and Jeff Bailey on the trumpet.

Three years ago, The Nashville Symphony Orchestra took to the stage of War Memorial Auditorium with a line-up of Music City?s jazz greats. Candlelit tables for two or four replaced the rows of theater-style chairs that regularly filled the hall?s main floor. Martinis, Manhattans and a plethora of other libations flowed from the first note to the last. The music was swinging. The vocals?sultry. The entire evening?hot, hot, hot.

Join us for The Nashville Symphony?s third annual Jazz at the Symphony. Another sensational celebration of the best of jazz, the event will feature the distinctive stylings of three of Nashville?s finest saxophone players ? Denis Solee, Mark Douthis and Jeff Coffin ? alongside Conductor Jeff Steinberg and The Nashville Symphony. Don?t miss this opportunity to hear Count Basie?s ?Jumpin? at the Woodside,? Duke Ellington?s ?C Jam Blues? and Billy Strayhorn?s ?Lush Life? like you?ve never heard them before. Don?t miss Jazz at the Symphony!
