July 5 is the last day Tennesseans can register for Aug. 4 election

tn.gov

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — If you plan on voting in the August 4 election, election officials want you to know that July 5 is the last day you can register.

Officials say voter registration applications must be in by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5. Mail-in applications must also be postmarked by that date.

You’re getting an extra day to register this year because the last day to register actually falls on July 4, a national holiday.

Voters can register at election commission offices in each Tennessee county or online. Officials say anyone who registers online must vote the first time in person and are not eligible to vote absentee.
