MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders women's basketball team will open the season hosting Tennessee for the first time since 2009.
According to the schedule released Sunday, the Blue Raiders face the Vols on Nov. 8. Last season, Tennessee beat MTSU 88-81 in overtime to advance to the elite eight in the NCAA Tournament.
The Blue Raiders will also host the Kentucky Wildcats on Nov. 24. Middle Tennessee defeated the Wildcats, 70-58, in their last meeting two years ago. However, the Wildcats edged the Blue Raiders last year to make an elite eight appearance.
Middle Tennessee will play 10 teams this season that reached postseason play last year.
The Blue Raiders are coming off a 25-8 season that included a regular season and tournament Sun Belt title, along with a school-record fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
