Lady Raiders still in the post season running

goblueraiders.com

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WALKER) - Middle Tennessee advances to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT after a 70-60 victory over Arkansas State on Sunday.

Blue Raiders' sophomore Ty Petty lead MT in scoring dropping 22 points, including three from beyond the arc.  Junior Brea Edwards and sophomore Oliva Jones both finished the game with double-doubles.

Up next for the Lady Raiders is a home matchup against Ole Miss Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Murphy Center.

It will be a rematch from earlier this season when Middle Tennessee defeated the Lady Rebels 71-65 in Oxford, Miss.

The biggest headline in this contest is MTSU coach Rick Insell coaching against his son Matt Insell.  They made history in the first matchup being the first father-child duo to coach against each other in an NCAA Division I women's basketball game.

As always you can catch the game live on 89.5 WMOT.
