Large Job Fair Planned for Smyrna Wednesday

tn.gov

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Tennessee Career Centers and State Rep. Mike Sparks are putting on a large job fair in Smyrna this week.

The fair will be held Wednesday, September 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Parkway Baptist church on Lee Victory Parkway.

Some of the companies participating include Bridgestone, UPS, Calsonic Kansei, Yates Services, and Saks Fifth Avenue Distribution.

Rep Sparks says that in spite of the economic growth the mid-state has enjoyed in recent months, there’s still a lot of people out of work.

“Sometimes I think people want to gloss things over, but we happen to see the need. Being a State Representative, we still get the phone calls. We still have challenges that this state is faced with and this country’s faced with. We’re blessed to be here in Middle Tennessee, but we still have needs.”

Rep Sparks says applicants should dress professionally and bring along several copies of their resumes.
