Last Chance to Make a Mortgate Settlement Claim

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP/WMOT) — Friday is the deadline for Tennesseans to file a claim under the national mortgage settlement.

Approximately 37,000 Tennessee borrowers who lost their homes to foreclosure between 2008 and 2011 may be eligible to receive a payment under the settlement.

Jeff Hill is a lawyer in the Tennessee Attorney General’s office.

“People who have not returned forms that they received, or think they should be a part of the settlement need to contact the settlement administrator."

You can find more information about filing at claim at nationalmortgagesettlement.com.

The Attorney General’s office is also warning borrowers to be on the lookout for scams associated with the settlement.
