Legislative Session Review: Senator Jim Tracy

tn.gov

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  WMOT is again this year asking news makers from across the political spectrum to comment on the just concluded 108th Tennessee General Assembly.

Today we speak to State Senator Jim Tracy, representing the mid-state’s 14th district.

Senator Tracy says he’s proudest of bills passed this session that help returning American war veterans get back on their feet, including a bill that makes getting and education easier.

When asked about business the legislative session left undone he cites transportation funding and tax reform.

“Funding our projects in transportation, I think that’s going to be looked at. Also I was the sponsor of the Hall Income Tax – doing away with it – and we did not get to do that this year.”

Tracy says he’s pleased that General Assembly managed to balance the state budget in spite of unexpected revenue shortfalls this year.
