Lipscomb University Jazz Band and Jazz Vocal Ensemble

Has a concert set for Oct. 7. NASHVILLE, TENN – Lipscomb University?s Jazz Band and Jazz Vocal Ensemble present a fall concert Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre, on the campus, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.

The ensembles are directed by Dr. Steve Rhodes, professor of music at Lipscomb.

The Jazz Band, directed by Dr. Stephen Rhodes, brings "America's classical music" to the Lipscomb University campus in four concerts each year. Styles range from big band to funk and beyond, with an emphasis on variety of styles and eras. The Jazz Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Gerald Moore, is mixed quintet that covers jazz, blues, and popular standards. The Lipscomb jazz groups are open to all interested students.
