The Lost Generation of Cubans on The World for 12-19

Today on The World, meet the Lost Generation.

That's the generation of Cubans who came of age after the fall of the Soviet Union and the economic support it provided their nation.  Yuro Leyva Lopez is one of them. Ten years ago he was Marco Werman's helper and translator when he took a reporting trip to Cuba. Now Yuro lives in exile in Spain. Today on the World he'll tell us how he feels about plans to normalize relations between the US and Cuba.

Also, do you want to know what "The Interview" is actually like? Now that Sony Pictures has pulled Seth Rogen's film from release you're not going to see it on the big screen. Our own Nina Porzucki caught a sneak preview before the Sony hack and she'll tells Marco all about it.

And, sorry to point this out, but Sunday is the shortest day of the year. It could be worse. You could live in Russia where President Putin has outlawed daylight savings so it now gets darker even earlier. It's so bad in Siberia that protests have erupted. Alina Simone sheds more light on that story for us.
