Man Found Dead Along I-24 in Rutherford County

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a Rutherford County man who was found inside of his car with a gunshot wound.

According to WKRN-TV, the man was discovered around 6:30 a.m. Sunday along Interstate 24 in Smyrna.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 47 year-old Jackie Graham Warpoole of Smyrna, was found inside a silver Dodge Magnum about 6:30 a.m. by a motorist who stopped to check on the parked car.

The Highway Patrol joined sheriff’s detectives in processing the crime scene. The vehicle was then transported to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Laboratory for processing.
