Man pleads guilty to murder of Johnny Cash's great-niece

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A New Jersey man accused of fatally stabbing Johnny Cash's great-niece in Tennessee is set to serve 15 years in prison after reaching a plea deal.

Multiple news outlets report Wayne Masciarella of Cape May, New Jersey, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Courtney Cash.

Police found the victim's body hidden in a cedar box inside her Putnam County home in 2014. Autopsy results showed she was stabbed to death.
