Man shot six times at Murfreesboro bar

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro Police say a man has been shot at a bar just north of Middle Tennessee State University.

Police say they responded to Campus Pub on Gunnerson Ave. at about 2:30 a.m. Friday morning following reports of a shooting.

The first officer on the scene says he found a victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen lying on the bar’s front steps. Two patrons were applying pressure to the wound.

One witness described the gunman as a black male wearing a grey or black hoodie and light blue jeans with shoulder length dreads.

WTVF-TV quotes an MPD detective saying the victim was shot six times. He was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where he’s listed in critical condition.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP. That’s 893-7867.
