Mark Bowden Visits The World to Discuss the CIA and Interrogation Techniques

Our newsroom has many questions following the release of yesterday's report on the CIA's interrogation techniques. We're sure you do too. And we'll try to answer some of them today.

One of our most pressing questions: if torture doesn't work, why did the CIA continue to use it? We'll speak with Mark Bowden, who has written extensively on the CIA's interrogation techniques.  This being The World, we'll also head outside the country to give you a sense of the global reaction to the report.

Plus, part three of our week-long SafeMode series on Millennials and international security. Today, we profile a young Latvian actor in Russia who plays "John Snow" in a mini-series on Russian television. And yes, "John Snow" is a nod to Edward Snowden. We'll follow that with an interview with Bobby Chesney, who teaches international law at UT Austin, about what a post-Snowden world means to him.

Also, the story of Navid Khonsari, who was a kid when the 1979 Revolution took place in Iran. His family fled to Canada and he grew up to become a prominent video game designer. Now he's creating a new video game set during Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.
