MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A group that says it wants to champion religious freedom and diversity in Middle Tennessee is hosting an interfaith meeting Thursday evening in Nashville.

The group Family of Abraham is composed of members representing the Jewish, Muslim and Christian Faiths.

The evening’s speaker will be Dr. Randy Lowry, President of Lipscomb University. Lowry has a background in conflict resolution.

“Peace is not the absence of conflict. Peace is the ability to deal with conflict effectively, efficiently, and respectfully.”

Lowry says that anyone who cherishes religious liberty as a core-value, must learn to respect those who see faith differently.

A representative from each of the three faiths in the Family of Abraham will provide a response to Dr. Lowry’s presentation.

Thursday night’s gathering will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Franklin Road beginning at 7 p.m.
