MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested a Davidson County man for the rape of a 3 year-old child.
Authorities say Sheriff’s deputies and the U.S. Marshalls service teamed up to capture 19 year-old Jonathan Chambliss in Nashville on Wednesday.
Police say a witness came forward to claim that back in June Chambliss sexually assaulted the child at a family gathering in the Blackman community.
Chambliss reportedly fled to Texas soon after the incident, but the Marshall’s Service eventually located him in Middle Tennessee.
Chambliss was booked into Rutherford County Jail and will make an initial court appearance November 10. Bond was set at $300,000.
