Middle Tennessee rallies to beat Charlotte 72-69

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — MTSU Men’s basketball trailed for much of their game against Charlotte, but pulled ahead in the final seconds to win 72-69 Saturday night.

The Blue Raiders lost the lead early in the first half and didn’t get it back until Jaqawn Raymond's hit a 3-pointer with 1:49 remaining. Reggie Upshaw made two free throws to extend the lead to three with 43 seconds remaining.

Jacquez Rozier scored 13 points and Jacob Ivory tied his career high with 12 to lead Middle Tennessee. The team is now 12-8 on the season and 5-2 Conference USA.

The Lady Raiders beat Charlotte far more decisively, winning 84 to 54 Saturday. The MT women have now won 8 of their last 9 games.

Cheyenne Parker and Olivia Jones were double trouble against the 49ers, combining for 50 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks, and four steals.
